Happy 18th Birthday, Manda!

Today (or more like yesterday), on May 27th, I turned 18 years old. A big year for everyone…male or female. I officially became a legal adult. Funny thing is…I still live at home, I still don’t have a job, I still haven’t applied for college, I still can’t drive, my mom will probably still make appointments for me, my mom still does the shopping and cooks the food…so there’s not much of a difference. Only difference is…I CAN go and take the driving test when I’m ready without taking a class…I can get tattoos and piercings without consent (that is when I actually have an ID)…and I have to do all of my own paperwork at the doctor’s office and whatnot. Oh, and I am now allowed to leave whenever I’m ready.
I’m not all that excited about being 18, but at the same time…I kinda just wanna be 18 and freeze. I don’t need to be 21. I mean…it’d be nice because I wanna go to the casino…but I’m not interested in bars or anything. So drinking is no big thing! I’m just terrified of the thought that I am now forever responsible for myself. And I’m getting closer and closer to the age where I’ll be responsible for ANOTHER human being.
It makes me feel…old.
Anyways, I had a wonderful birthday. Much better than my past birthdays! I have had over 50 people tell me happy birthday. And I know I have 60+ friends on Facebook, but not even everyone on there told me happy birthday! I didn’t realize I really knew that many people. What surprised me is that we took treats to the baseball field and the coach for my brother’s team had them sing to me. It was sweet…and a tad bit embarrassing! But I felt special.
I had a wonderful dinner. I really wanted to do something other than just go to do…like go to the mall…or the movies. So I was bored all day up until we finally had to leave to go to practice. I got gifts and cards…and this was just for today. It doesn’t include everything for my party on June 5th.
So, I’m not dead! My fanlistings are taking a hit since my new ones have temporary layouts, but my fan broke in my laptop, so I have no computer. Did I mention that before…? Ah well!
